Aston Villa told harsh truth about potentially ‘huge’ deal – Kieran Maguire
Aston Villa fans must be cautious about the value of their imminent Adidas kit manufacturer deal.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Adidas will not consider Villa an “elite” client like Manchester United and Liverpool.
As revealed by Football Insider, Villa are days away from announcing a new kit manufacturer deal with German sportswear company Adidas.
The Birmingham-based club have ended their partnership with Castore amid complaints from players around the quality of their 2023-24 kit.
It is understood that the Adidas deal will provide £17million per season to the club – a significant increase on their previous £4.5million Castore agreement.
Maguire warned Villa fans that their Adidas deal will not compete with the value of similar agreements struck with Liverpool and Manchester United.
Aston Villa deal cannot compete with Man United or Liverpool
“While Adidas is clearly a very high-profile name in the world of kit manufacturing, I think there has to be a little bit of caution with the value of this deal,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“Adidas have renewed their contract with Manchester United and have taken on Liverpool as well.

“Aston Villa will not be in Adidas’ elite band of partners.
“Therefore, I think those fans who think there will be a huge amount of money brought into the equation may have overstated expectations.“
