Aston Villa striker latest: Approach made for £12m ace, this duo on Bruce wanted list - report
By Harry Sykes
Norwich have made an enquiry to sign Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack as Steve Bruce steps up his striker overhaul plans, according to a report.
The Mail claim McCormack will be allowed to leave Villa Park in the final days of the window after being publicly shamed by Bruce over skipping training.
Intriguingly, Norwich made a bid to sign the forward, 30, last summer but were beaten to his signature by Villa’s then Championship record £12million offer.
Bruce is now ready to move McCormack on following a wretched campaign by the once prolific second-tier operator.
The Mail report that the Villa manager is trying to offload the Scotland international and his attacker teammate Jordan Ayew, who could be heading to Premier League outfit Swansea.

The men on Bruce’s striker wanted listed in the final three days of the winter window are Middlesbrough’s Jordan Rhodes and Chuba Akpom from Arsenal.
The Midlands giants are keen to land at least one new front man as they set their sights on a tilt at promotion in the second half of the season.
McCormack has had a disappointing campaign for Villa, scoring just three goals in 20 Championship matches, a far cry from the prolific form he consistently displayed for former clubs Fulham and Leeds.
At Craven Cottage last season, the versatile front man chipped in with 23 goals from 49 appearances, including 21 strikes and 10 assists from 45 league matches.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, speculation of a sensational forward deal intensified on Saturday evening.
