Aston Villa transformed after Coutinho reveal this week - pundit
Philippe Coutinho’s presence in training will galvanise the Aston Villa squad, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender claimed if any Villa players cannot be inspired by Coutinho then they should not be in football.
The Brazilian marked his Villa debut on Sunday (16 January) with the equalising goal in their 2-2 draw with Man United.
As quoted by the Daily Mail on Monday (17 January), Steven Gerrard claimed Coutinho had “lifted” his new Aston Villa teammates.
Asked whether the squad will be galvanised by the 29-year-old, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Definitely.
“You look around in a dressing room sometimes and think ‘Who’s going to get us out of trouble? Who’s going to get us a goal, who’s going to make something happen?’

“You want someone who you just think ‘Give him the ball, give him the ball’.
“He’s got nothing to prove but he’s always going to want the ball and is likely to create something.
“The players will see him in training day in, day out and will see he’s still got it. They will see him a lot more than we do in games.
“Young players will have grown up watching him at the top level, he’s been to Barcelona, he’s been to Bayern Munich and he’s played for Brazil. He’s played with the best players on the planet.
“If you can’t learn from players like that and if you can’t be inspired by players like that you shouldn’t be anywhere near football.”
