Aston Villa ‘very keen’ on signing Crysencio Summerville – Sources

Aston Villa and Brighton are “very keen” on signing Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville going into the summer, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the Premier League duo are eager to bolster their frontline ahead of next season and have shortlisted the Whites’ prolific attacker.

Summerville, 22, has been in scintillating form for Daniel Farke’s side this season having scored 16 goals and provided nine assists across 38 games in all competitions.

Both the Villans and the Seagulls held interest in signing the Dutchman in January, with Football Insider revealing at the time (5 January) that they were big admirers of the Championship star.

Now, they have revived their interest and could submit offers in the off-season.

It is believed that Leeds will be under no pressure to sell Summerville if they earn an expected promotion back to the Premier League, but failure to escape the Championship would put the futures of their best stars at risk.

Well-placed sources told Football Insider (29 March) that Leeds will still be vulnerable to bids for Archie Gray, Wilfried Gnonto and Summerville this summer amid interest from Premier League outfits regardless of whether they get promoted.

Summerville, whose contract expires in the summer of 2026, had multiple admirers in the summer and winter transfer windows.

Burnley reportedly submitted a £20million offer in August which was rejected, while many Premier League clubs were reportedly keeping tabs on his situation in January.

He signed for Leeds for a reported £1.3million in 2020 from Dutch giants Feyenoord, but the Whites will expect to make a huge profit if they sanction any sale.
