Aston Villa’s Amadou Onana reacts as Crysencio Summerville drops West Ham hint

Aston Villa star Amadou Onana has reacted to Crysencio Summerville’s latest online hint at West Ham.

The Villa midfielder has been sidelined via injury since the beginning of February, with Onana recently being pictured in an oxygen mask on the road to recovery.

Much like the Belgian, Summerville has been working to get back to full fitness as Graham Potter attempts to help the Hammers in their climb up the Premier League table.

The former Leeds winger was majorly underutilised during Julen Lopetegui’s nightmare West Ham reign, but having suffered a hamstring injury during Potter’s first game in charge, he has not been available since.

Now, fans may have a reason to be excited as the player drops a hint of his progress off the pitch.

Crysencio Summerville closes in on an injury return

Taking to Instagram [3 March], Summerville shared a video of himself training hard and on the treatment table, alongside the caption: “’Reset, restart, refocus’. Loading,” with lightning bolt and egg timer emojis.
Onana, in a similar position to the player, liked the post alongside West Ham teammate Edson Alvarez, who will be waiting for the attacking talent to return.

Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug, Lucas Paqueta and Vladimir Coufal are all currently on the treatment table at the London Stadium, though they could be one player closer to a full squad soon.

Graham Potter close to much-needed West Ham boost

Finally, after back-to-back victories over Arsenal and Leicester City, Potter’s reign looks to be taking shape after being left in a run by Lopetegui.

Despite bright signs under new management, the Hammers had only claimed one victory in six games, but supporters have something to look forward to ahead of clashes against Newcastle and Everton.
The return of Summerville would just be an extra boost in the attacking third, with the club’s last three goals coming from Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek and a Jannik Vestergaard own goal.

Potter needs his best players firing on all cylinders if the team are to thrive in his new style, especially with the back-three formation, and another goal-hungry winger will only help that.
