Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey reacts to Lucas Digne amid Tottenham links
Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey is a target for Premier League rivals Tottenham but found time to respond to a teammate’s social media post.
It was exclusively revealed by Football Insider that Ramsey wants to to join Spurs and is ‘unhappy’ at Villa.
The 24-year-old has faced intense competition for places in Villa’s midfield and hasn’t been a regular starter under manager Unai Emery.
Thomas Frank wants to make him one of his first signings in North London after only joining the club last month from rivals Brentford.

Digne could follow Ramsey out of Villa
Lucas Digne took to Instagram (8 July) to share a picture of him and his child with the caption: “Loving my Daddy’s life,” which Ramsey liked.
Digne is first choice left-back at Villa and appeared 45 times for the club last season, contributing seven assists.
The Frenchman joined the club from Everton in 2022 after previously playing for PSG and Barcelona.
However, following Ian Maatsen’s arrival last summer and Villa’s failure to qualify for Champions League football, Spanish club Atletico Madrid have showed interest over a deal.
Villa frustration as departures loom
Football Insider Verdict
This is turning into a tough summer for Villa with PSR rules and no Champions League football hitting the club hard.
Digne has been a mainstay in defence over the past three seasons, whilst the talented Ramsey has shown that with regular football he has plenty of potential.
Losing a key defender and homegrown talent would add to the problems Emery already has to contend with.

Manchester United are chasing number one Emi Martinez, and the goalkeeper is seen as one of the best in the world.
Morgan Rogers’ talent will undoubtedly attract interest whilst Ollie Watkins’ future still remains uncertain.
After losing Jhon Duran in January and Marcus Rashford at the end of his loan spell, Villa would be left without a recognised striker should Watkins depart.
Emery’s only signing so far this summer has been a pre-contract agreement with 18-year-old Yasin Ozcan.
The defender can play at centre-back or left-back, so perhaps is seen as Digne’s long-term replacement.
Emery though requires players that are proven first team quality should his top stars leave the club.
