Aston Villa’s stance on accepting new Diego Carlos offer revealed
Aston Villa could allow defender Diego Carlos to leave the club this month, sources have told Football Insider.
Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are keen on the 31-year-old, who was heavily linked with an exit during the summer window.
Fulham were keen on Carlos but have now cooled that interest, leaving the Turkish giants as the front-runners for his signature.
The Villa star could be allowed to leave by Unai Emery and his transfer team if they get the right offer before the 3 February deadline.
He has missed the last two games with a foot injury, allowing Tyrone Mings back into the fold after his recovery from a serious knee injury.
Carlos has played 17 games across all competitions this term, starting in 14 of those outings.
He is under contract at Villa Park until June 2026 after joining from Sevilla in 2022.
