With the season coming towards it’s conclusion, it will soon to be time to hand out the awards for Scotland’s player of the year, an award that Celtic have dominated in recent years.

Last season three Celtic players and one Aberdeen player – who now plays for the Hoops – were nominated for the award; Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele, Stuart Armstrong and Jonny Hayes, with Sinclair deservedly winning.

This season though, it is highly unlikely that any of those players will be nominated, due to a combination of poor form and injuries.

The Hoops, despite being on the verge of winning another domestic treble, haven’t played all that well this season, doing just enough at times to get the win that they need to stay ahead of the rest.

Despite this though, there should still be more than a few Hoops players up for the award, which is voted for by their fellow professionals.
