Teenage attacker Jordan Cox has revealed he has signed his first professional contract at Aston Villa.

The right-sided winger, 18, took to Twitter to express his satisfaction at penning the landmark deal with the Championship big-hitters.

Cox explained on his personal Twitter account that he was “delighted” to have agreed terms with Villa, who he joined at the age of 10.

The teenager, who was previously on scholarship terms, does not divulge the length of the contract but initial professional deals are usually of two or three years.

Cox has been a mainstay in Villa’s Under-18s and his progress has been such that he has also made the notable leap to the Under-23s, which is regarded as the penultimate step before joining the first-team squad.
