Au revoir Arsene – Five greatest Tottenham games against Wenger’s Arsenal
2. Tottenham 2 – 0 Arsenal (30/04/2017)
The result which ensured Spurs would finish above the Gunners for the first time since the 1994/95 campaign, this was also the last north London derby to be played at White Hart Lane – and the Lilywhites went out in style.
With a title chase on the cards, Spurs picked up their ninth successive league win to keep pressure on eventual champions Chelsea, but despite 90 minutes of action, this clash was decided in just under five.
A tight opening 45 minutes, in which the hosts probably edged it, was followed by a dominant display from Mauricio Pochettino’s men – with a 1-0 lead , thanks to Dele Alli’s 55th minute goal, quickly becoming a two goal advantage, Harry Kane netting from the penalty spot – which is how it finished.
