Leeds star raves about 'perfect' defender he wants back at Elland Road
Luke Ayling has revealed that if he could sign any defender in the world for Leeds United, it would be his former teammate Kyle Bartley.
In an interview with the club’s official site, the defender was asked who he would sign if he was the manager of the club, if he could pick anyone in the world.
Ayling picked some obvious if unlikely choices – Manuel Neur, Lionel Messi and Luka Modric.
However, when choosing a defender to sign, Ayling picked Bartley and described him as “perfect in every sense.”
Bartley spent last season on loan at Leeds from Swansea City, making 50 appearances for the club and scoring six goals.
The defender nearly helped the Whites qualify for the play-offs but Leeds ended five points short of Fulham who got the last spot.

Swansea City have opted to keep the defender with them this season, but he’s only featured in three games across all competitions due to a knee injury.
Bartley extended his contract after returning to Swansea City in the summer, with his deal now not expiring until 2021.
Without Bartley this season, Leeds find themselves seventh after 21 games with 33 points.
The Whites are next in action against Norwich City on Saturday.
