Bailey faces 'impossible' task at Aston Villa after major development - pundit
Frank McAvennie claims it is “impossible” for Leon Bailey to replace Jack Grealish at Aston Villa.
The former Villains hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, did insist the Jamaica international is a quality player.
On Wednesday (4th August), Aston Villa confirmed the capture of Bailey.
Bailey, 23, scored 15 goals and contributed 11 assists in 40 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen last season.
He can play all across the top line and as such, he has been mooted as a direct replacement for Grealish.
On Thursday, Villa announced the departure of Grealish in what the club said was a £100million deal.

McAvennie insists Bailey will find it “impossible” to replace the former Villa talisman.
“Grealish was the golden boy,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Anyone will find it impossible to replace him. Bailey is clearly a good player.
“He’s one of them who we don’t know too much about but the name is always there.
“He’s clearly a quality player and Villa won’t pay over the odds to sign him.
“That means he’s worth that amount of money, whatever it is. He is a £40million player.
“He can’t replace Grealish in the sense of what he means to the fans and he’ll have a tough time replacing him on the pitch.
“I feel for him in a way. But I trust the board and there’s no reason why he won’t be a good signing for Villa.”
Villa have also signed Emi Buendia, Ashley Young and Danny Ings this summer.
