‘Baller’ – Celtic fans wowed by what they’ve seen from star player vs Kilmarnock
Celtic supporters were pleased by what they saw from Marcelo Sarrachi in their 2-1 win at Kilmarnock on Sunday.
The left-back made his first Scottish Premiership appearance from the bench when Celtic drew 0-0 at Rangers on 31 August.
However, the 27-year-old, who joined on loan from Boca Juniors in the summer transfer window, had to wait until the trip to Kilmarnock on Sunday, 14 September to make his first start for Brendan Rodgers’ men.
Rodgers’ side took the lead through Daizen Maeda on 57 minutes, before David Watson equalised for the hosts.
However, Celtic summer signing Kelechi Iheanacho scored from the penalty spot in the 96th minute to ensure that the Bhoys secured all three points.
During the summer transfer window, Maeda wanted to leave Celtic, but he instead stayed with the Glasgow giants.
The 27-year-old’s goal ultimately helped his side claim their fourth win five attempts in the Scottish Premiership.
Rodgers’ side will now turn their attention to their League Cup visit to Partick Thistle on Sunday, 21 September, before their Europa League campaign gets underway with a trip to Serbian side Crvena Zvezda.
Saracchi endeared himself to his new supporters by producing the cross that led to Maeda’s headed goal in the second half.
Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Premier League clubs are keen on appointing Rodgers next summer.
For now, though, the 52-year-old has steered Celtic back to the top of the Scottish Premiership table, thanks to their superior goal difference over Hearts.
