Former Liverpool star Mario Balotelli has claimed that he only spoke to Jurgen Klopp once during his time at Anfield.
Balotelli, 26, did not settle in his time on Merseyside and was shipped out to AC Milan on loan last season, where he struggled with injury.
The forward joined French outfit Nice this summer on a free transfer where he has scored six goals in five games.
“Klopp doesn’t know me, I spoke to him once, he told me to go somewhere else, work hard and then return,” Balotelli told Sky Italia.
“So I said goodbye to them, and that we wouldn’t be seeing each other again.
“I didn’t make mistakes in terms of my game or my behaviour, but I did get injured and that’s not something I can control.”
The former Reds flop has revived his career in France and has already notched against Marseille, Monaco, Krasnodar and F.C Lorient this term.
The attacker has not reached double figures in the league for a team since the 2013-14 season with AC Milan.
Balotelli was frozen out of the Liverpool squad by Klopp and eventually moved on by the Anfield boss in August.
The forward scored just four goals in 28 appearances for the Reds.
In other Liverpool news, Jurgen Klopp is not afraid to be ruthless when it comes to the composition of the Reds team.
