Bayern Munich ace Thomas Muller has stated that he is “looking forward to the duel with Mesut Ozil” after his side were drawn up against Arsenal in the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger’s side will face the German champions during the last 16 stages of the competition, with the winner progressing through to the quarter-finals.

Versatile attacker Muller is the German teammate of Ozil, who has been in tremendous form for the north London club this season.

If the Gunners are to progress through to the next round then the playmaker will have to be on his best form.

After the draw between the two European giants were made, Muller offered his stern thoughts on facing Wenger’s side.

“No question, Arsenal is a difficult task,” Muller told Bayern Munich’s official website. “There are two top European clubs, but in the end, FC Bayern will hopefully get through. Above all, I’m looking forward to the duel with Mesut Özil.”

Ozil was one of Arsenal’s standout performers during the Champions League group stages as they topped the table ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.

The World Cup winner scored four goals and provided three assists during six games, including netting a hat-trick against Ludogorets on home soil.

Additionally, Ozil has also been in top form in the Premier League this term, where he has scored five goals and supplied three assists in 15 league games.

As a result the north London club sit in second place in the table, three points behind leaders Chelsea who have won their last nine matches.

Arsenal will now travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Wednesday night, before a highly-anticipated clash against Manchester City at the weekend.
