It caused a great deal of surprise when Paul Heckingbottom failed to announce the former Middlesbrough midfielder as part of his starting line-up to face relegation-threatened Bolton, with Leeds’ official Twitter account confirming that Ronaldo Vieira has come in to replace the senior player.

Forshaw has impressed fans since signing from Boro in January but he is yet to be on the winning side for the Whites after missing the 1-0 win over Brentford due to the birth of his child.
Football Insider verdict
Forshaw has been a very good signing for Leeds after switching Teesside for West Yorkshire and he will be a massive miss against Bolton on Friday. However the fact that the last game that the Whites won was when the midfielder was out may mean that Heckingbottom would have to leave him on out in the future if they win against the Trotters. It’s harsh but managers should not change a winning team, even if there are just a few days separating fixtures. A lot of Leeds players have had nearly two weeks off because of the international break so fitness should not be an issue over the Easter weekend.
In other Leeds United news, fans have urged the club to hire this two-time Championship-winning manager in the summer.
