BBC Journalist reveals early Leeds team news as Whites handed imminent injury boosts
Leeds United will start with striker Jay-Roy Grot for their FA Cup clash against Newport County on Sunday, according to a journalist.
BBC Radio Leeds’ Adam Pope has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the 19-year-old Dutch forward, who has 14 appearances for the Whites under his belt, will be entrusted to lead the line by manager Thomas Christiansen, having started both of the club’s League Cup games earlier this season

The versatile attacker, who has been used on both flanks as a winger and as an attacking midfielder alongside his natural centre forward role, is still waiting to net his first goal for the club, having found himself behind the likes of Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe in the pecking order.
Pope also revealed that the club were set for an imminent injury boost, with both Ronaldo Vieira and Stuart Dallas said to be closing in on returns to action after their respective layoffs.
The 19-year-old midfielder suffered his blow after a reckless challenge in the 2-1 win over Burton Albion, and has been unable to add to his 18 appearances since.
Dallas meanwhile has been a long-term absentee for the Whites, missing the last eight matches after 13 outings this season, although only two came among the starting XI.
Meanwhile Luke Ayling, who was forced off in the 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest, is reported to still go undergoing medial examinations to determine the extent of his injury, joining Caleb Ekuban on the sidelines.
In other Leeds United news, the club’s attacking target is on the verge of a transfer deal after talks were confirmed.
