BBC pundit predicts Rangers clash v Aberdeen

BBC Scotland pundit Steven Thompson predicts Rangers and Aberdeen will draw 1-1 when the two sides meet at Ibrox on Wednesday night.
The two sides meet in a huge clash in the Scottish Premiership with the Gers looking to leapfrog the Pittodrie side in the standings with a win.
Gers manager Graeme Murty has already faced Aberdeen twice since taking the reins in October and has picked up two wins against the Dons.
Thompson picked out Aberdeen’s Gary Mackay-Steven as a key player for the Dons after scoring a fantastic goal in their 4-1 Scottish Cup win over St. Mirren on Saturday.
“A brilliant game, a huge game including all of the new signings,” Thompson said in BBC Sportscene Extra’s Facebook Live video.
“Aberdeen will go into the game full of confidence, including Gary Mackay-Steven after his goal. Draw, one each.”
The Gers will be playing their first competitive game since the 0-0 draw with Celtic on December 30th although should be pretty sharp after facing Atletico Mineiro and Corinthians in the Florida Cup during the winter break.
Graeme Murty’s side is likely to be much-changed from the 0-0 draw with Celtic last month after the arrivals of Jason Cummings, Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Russell Martin on loan until the end of the season.
A win for the Gers would see them overtake the Dons in secod place in the Scottish Premiership on goal difference as the Light Blues look to secure second and make up ground on runaway leaders Celtic.
