‘Beast’ – Bruno Fernandes wowed by Man United teammate in new message
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes shared a thrilled message towards Patrick Dorgu following his performance in their pre-season clash against Bournemouth.
Man United came up against Bournemouth in their latest pre-season fixture in the Premier League Summer Series and came away with a 4-1 victory.
Rasmus Hojlund, Dorgu, Amad and youngster Ethan Williams all contributed to the goals for the Red Devils whilst Matthijs De Ligt scored an own goal late in the game.
Dorgu had already caught the eye with a standout display for Man United against West Ham earlier in pre-season, and the full-back impressed once again with his energy, positioning and attacking threat down the left flank.
Following the final whistle, captain Fernandes was clearly impressed, sending a direct message to Dorgu in praise of his performance.
Man United stars join Bruno Fernandes in reacting to Patrick Dorgu’s standout performance
Fernandes reposted Manchester United’s official account on Instagram after it praised Dorgu for his display against Bournemouth, where the young full-back both scored and assisted in a dominant win.
The United captain added the caption, “What a game, beast” in support of the 20-year-old. Fernandes wasn’t the only one to show appreciation, as teammates Andre Onana and even Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo were among those who liked the club’s original post.

Dorgu joined the side from Lecce in January as Ruben Amorim’s first signing, and has been shown full trust by the manager as he continues to grow into the left-back role.
Football Insider previously reported that Pervis Estupinan was keen to join Man United earlier in the window before eventually signing for AC Milan, and Dorgu’s recent progress may now shift the club’s priorities.
Dorgu had a challenging start to life at Man United, struggling in early showings against players like Anthony Elanga and Antoine Semenyo. But over the summer, he has visibly sharpened his defensive skills and overall awareness.
Since making his move from Serie A, he has racked up 20 appearances for United, with one assist to his name.

Man United to consider Luke Shaw sale amid Dorgu emergence
While Dorgu’s progress has excited supporters and gained praise from the squad, it could spell the end of the road for Luke Shaw at Old Trafford.
Former chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Shaw is a candidate to be sold by Man United this summer, with multiple clubs in the Saudi Pro League registering interest.
Brown added that Amorim is willing to let the England international leave if a suitable offer comes in, thanks to the emergence of both Dorgu and highly rated youngster Harry Amass.
Supporters have grown increasingly frustrated with his inconsistency and persistent injury problems, and many Man United fans have called for the club to move Shaw on. That decision could now be edging closer.
