Ben Chilwell sends Crystal Palace message after debut display

Ben Chilwell has sent a message to Crystal Palace after he made his debut for the club in the FA Cup on Monday (10 February).

The Eagles progressed into the fifth round of the competition by defeating Doncaster Rovers 2-0 after goals from Daniel Munoz and Justin Devenny.

Oliver Glasner’s men will now face Millwall in the fifth round as they attempt to continue building a run to Wembley Stadium.

The FA Cup fixture also saw the Palace debut of Chilwell take place as he made a cameo appearance from the bench.

The 28-year-old replaced Tyrick Mitchell for the second half as he kickstarted his loan deal as a member of the Palace squad.

Chilwell immediately made an impact as he helped Glasner’s side keep a clean sheet to ensure the victory.

Ben Chilwell is looking to regain match sharpness

Chilwell is simply focusing on trying to regain match sharpness at this point after being placed into the Chelsea bomb squad this season.

The England international dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and was deemed surplus to requirement by Enzo Maresca, which is why he was allowed to leave the Blues on loan.

Chilwell had only played 45 minutes all season for Chelsea which took place on 9 September against Barrow.

Chilwell has sent Crystal Palace fans a message

The England international was proud of his debut for the club and took to Instagram to celebrate the situation.

He shared a photograph of himself and said, “Palace debut. Next round.”

Chilwell will have the chance to make his first Premier League appearance this season on Saturday (15 February) when the Eagles host Everton in their next fixture.
