Ben Chilwell sends Crystal Palace message after escaping Chelsea bomb squad
Ben Chilwell has sent a message to the Crystal Palace supporters following his loan move to Selhurst Park during the January transfer window.
The left-back has joined the Eagles until the end of the season as he looks to get his career back on track after being placed into Chelsea’s ‘bomb squad’ by Enzo Maresca.
The England international has only played 45 minutes throughout this season in the EFL Cup, with Maresca determining that Chilwell doesn’t suit his style of play.
The 28-year-old has been left on the sidelines and even spent a period of time training away from the first team during the summer.
Chilwell has played 169 times in the Premier League, scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists throughout his career.

The transfer is one that Chilwell will be looking to use to remind everyone what he is capable of in the Premier League, and he took to Instagram to share his excitement.
Chilwell said, “Delighted to be here at @cpfc. Such an exciting squad with big ambitions, I can’t wait to get back playing and help this team achieve great things. Lets go!”

The Eagles currently sit 12th in the Premier League table after 24 games, sitting just a point below Brentford.

Palace will be back in action on Monday (10 February) when they travel to face Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup.
Chilwell will have to wait until Saturday (15 February) for his potential return to the Premier League when Palace place Everton.
