Ben Davies: This Tottenham squad player is on the verge of breakthrough
By Dominic Toner
Tottenham defender Ben Davies believes that Heung-Min Son has everything chance of breaking into the starting line-up.
The 24-year-old has been an important member of the Spurs squad this season, but has quite often had to make do with appearances from the bench.
Son has completed 90 minutes in just 12 of his 35 appearances across all competitions this campaign and has been unable to stake his place in the starting XI under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The attacker managed to make the most of his chance on Sunday when he scored a fantastic hat-trick in a 6-0 victory over Millwall in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Davies now feels that his team-mate is on the verge of a breakthrough to being a regular feature after some impressive performances.

“Every time he (Son) gets a chance on the field he seems to create something or seems to be involved in goals,” Davies said, as quoted by the club’s official website. “It’s a big part of his game and he’s really staking a claim to get himself playing regularly.
“The quality and the strength in depth in this squad is there for all to see.”
Son may now be presented with an opportunity to cement his position after team-mate Harry Kane was forced off in the Millwall victory.
Spurs’ star forward was replaced with an ankle injury and the Daily Mail report he will undergo a scan on Monday.
Son can play in either a wide or central attacking position and Pochettino could turn to him if Kane faces a spell on the sideline.
The attacker has been influential this season despite his limited opportunities and proved against Millwall he is ready to step in when required.
Son has managed 14 goals and supplied seven assists this campaign, a very strong return considering his minutes on the pitch.
