Ben Davies: Update on Tottenham star quitting the club – sources
Ben Davies is now likely to see out the final year of his contract at Tottenham, sources have told Football Insider.
The 31-year-old wants to stay at Spurs for the 2024-25 campaign despite entering the last 12 months of his deal at the club in June.
Sources at Spurs say Postecoglou has no concerns about keeping Davies on at Tottenham as he is a valuable squad member.
The Wales international was named in the starting lineup for the Lilywhites’ last pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich on Saturday (10 August).
He has made 330 Tottenham appearances since joining the club from Swansea 10 years ago, with 19 of those outings coming in the 2023-24 campaign.
Davies set to see out Tottenham contract
Spurs are leaning towards keeping Davies despite their need to trim the squad and balance the books in an expensive summer window.
Emerson Royal and Joe Rodon have already left the club for fees with stars like Ryan Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele leaving the club on free transfers.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (13 August) that Tottenham will accept bids for left-back Sergio Reguilon before the transfer deadline.

Meanwhile, sources have also told Football Insider (11 August) that Spurs are willing to accept a £10million bid for Giovani Lo Celso after slashing his asking price.
Dominic Solanke and Archie Gray are the headline new arrivals for Postecoglou’s side as they prepare to get the new campaign underway next week against Leicester.
