West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster has hit back at Tottenham fans who trolled him following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Wembley between the two sides.
The majority of Spurs fans blasted Foster, 34, for supposedly time-wasting as Mauricio Pochettino’s men failed to see off the managerless Baggies, who had Gary Megson in charge following Tony Pulis’ sacking on Monday.
That led to a bunch of Tottenham fans to plague Foster’s personal Instagram account with a series of messages, calling him a ‘cheat’ and ‘fatty’.
The eight-times England international decided to take a swipe back at those fans though as he named and shamed this on an Instagram post, as well as saying telling that it’s just a game.
“Jeeeeeez some of you football fans take this game really seriously don’t ya! Calm down. It’s only a game. Fatty cuts me deep,” he said.
Foster admitted earlier this year that he had grew up as a Tottenham supporter, but his six years on the books at the Hawthorns has since made him switch allegiances to be a West Brom fan.
He joined the Baggies initially on a loan deal from Birmingham which was made permanent in 2012.
The ex-Man United goalkeeper has since made a total of 195 appearances for Albion, keeping 49 clean sheets in the process.
However he was unable to keep one at Wembley on Sunday as Harry Kane rescued a point for Spurs after Salomon Rondon opened the scoring in the early phases after a mistake from Dele Alli.
Rondon could have scored a winner towards the end of the Premier League fixture, but Albion’s search for a first league win since August goes on with Newcastle up next on Tuesday night.
In other Tottenham news, Paul Ince has claimed that this Spurs ace is getting distracted and losing form.
