Ben White: Eddie Howe is a big fan of Arsenal defender, he could be tempted into Newcastle move
Ben White is attracting growing interest in a move away from Arsenal this summer, with Newcastle United the latest club to join the race.
The 28-year-old was heavily involved with England over the international break and has been watched closely by a number of potential suitors.
His lack of playing time for Arsenal this season, while largely due to injuries, has led to suggestions that he could be allowed to leave, and clubs have been placed on alert.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Eddie Howe is a big fan of White and is a leading voice behind Newcastle’s interest.
The Magpies are at risk of losing Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento this summer, and have now set their sights on White ahead of a busy window for Newcastle.

Football Insider revealed on 17 March that Everton are keen to sign White and could agree a cut-price fee given his lack of recent involvement.
Sources say the right-back’s future is likely to hinge on whether he will be guaranteed playing time, as that is currently not the case at Arsenal.

The Toffees have long been admirers of White, but with Newcastle now joining the race, his future remains very much up in the air.
“Newcastle have a few concerns about their full-backs,” Brown told Football Insider.
“There’s been a lot of talk about whether Trippier might sign a new contract and there’s a lot of interest in Livramento, so they could lose both of them.
“In that case, they would certainly need to sign a new right-back and Ben White is one of the best options available at the moment, if he is going to leave Arsenal.
“He’s back in the England squad and has played quite well when called upon, but he hasn’t been playing much for Arsenal, so he might be interested in a move.
“Eddie Howe is always keen to sign players with Premier League experience and I hear he is a big fan of White, so it would make a lot of sense.
“Obviously, if he’s available they’re not going to be the only team interested, but I’m sure he is one they’re keeping a close eye on.”
Could Arsenal accept offers for White?
Amid the ongoing speculation about White’s future at the Emirates, Arsenal are planning to cash in on a number of fringe players in a bid to raise funds.
Football Insider revealed on 25 March that Arsenal are preparing for a mass exodus and sporting director Andrea Berta has been tasked with overseeing sales.

Having seen their rivals including Chelsea and Man City able to spend excessively due to their big-money sales of fringe and academy stars, the Gunners hope to follow suit.
That could see White on a list of a number of players allowed to leave Arsenal this summer, while speculation continues to surround multiple of his teammates.
The likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Gabriel Jesus are both attracting interest in moves away, and Arteta will be hopeful of securing big fees should they move on.
