'Best striker in the league' - Leeds fans react to speculation deal all but done for £59,000-a-week ace
By Harry Sykes
Leeds United are reportedly on the verge of signing Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga – and fans took to Twitter to hail him as a potentially excellent acquisition.
The Mail have claimed via their live transfer blog (Tuesday, 2.57pm) that Lasogga, 25, is close to joining on loan from Bundesliga side Hamburg.
It is said that the former Germany Under-21 international could not be the only forward who arrives at Elland Road by Thursday night, with the club also working on a deal to sign Malmo’s Pawel Cibicki.
Reports in Germany are also stating that the deal is all but done for Lasogga to arrive for the season ahead of the transfer deadline.
Leeds fans are excited at the seemingly likely arrival of a striker who has an impressive track record in one of Europe’s toughest leagues.

Can’t wait for Pennington to come back, add in Lassoga and that’s a team that. #lufc

It seems #LUFC are very close to agreeing 12 month loan deal with Hamburg for Lassoga! Looks like VO has got a striker could be shrewd biz!

Lassoga fine by me as long as he truly gets vision & #lufc desire is really there, not just “any top Championship side where money is right”

German newspaper Bild have reported that Hamburg are willing to subsidise what could be a loan deal for one of their top earners, who has a salary of £59,000-a-week.
Leeds are in the market for at least one front man after the departure of Chris Wood to Burnley last week for an initial £15million.
The Yorkshire giants have 19-year-old Dutchman Jay-Roy Grot and the injured Caleb Ekuban, who is set to undergo foot surgery and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, as their only orthodox options to lead the line of attack.
In other Leeds United transfer news, the club have one striker deal in the big just days before the window shuts and are also closing in on another big-name signing.
