Betting latest: Everton strong favourites to sign 32-goal hitman
By Amir Mir
Everton are strong favourites to sign Celtic hitman Moussa Dembele, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Popular betting company Sky Bet have priced the 20-year-old at just 11/10 – just over even money – to make a switch from Parkhead to Goodison Park this summer.
Italian giants AC Milan are priced as outsiders at 6/1, with Chelsea and Liverpool both coming in at even wider odds of 14/1.
France under-21 international Dembele recently enjoyed a successful campaign under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.
The highly-rated youngster scored 32 goals in all competitions as the Hoops went on the claim a memorable domestic treble during the recently concluded campaign.
Added with that, they remained unbeaten throughout the season, dropping points on only four occasions.
Dembele moved to Celtic last summer when Rodgers snapped him up on a free transfer after his contract with English Championship club Fulham had expired.
Everton, who will be entering the Europa League qualifiers next month, have already added two new faces to their ranks this summer.
Sunderland and England under-21 goalkeeper Jordan Pickford moved to Merseyside for a club-record fee, while Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen made the switch from Holland.
It is highly likely that Toffees manager Ronald Koeman will continue to bolster his squad ahead of the forthcoming Premier League season.
Dembele, who is one of the most sought after forwards in Europe, has three years left to run on his current deal.
In other Everton transfer news, a medical has been passed as the club are on the verge of completing their third summer signing.
