Leeds have been installed as the joint favourites to sign West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Bet Victor have priced the Yorkshire giants alongside close rivals Barnsley at 2/1 to sign the 21-year-old before the September transfer deadline.
Premier League duo Watford and Burnley trail the Yorkshire pair in the pricing at 6/1, while trio Rangers, Norwich and Wolves all share odds of 8/1.
Leeds have been installed as joint favourites after the Sun claimed the Whites had asked West Ham to take him on loan for the campaign.
The Yorkshire giants have long been linked with the youngster and were even reportedly interested in him before his move to the Hammers after the former Manchester United man spent an impressive loan spell at Barnsley in League One, where he scored nine goals in 26 outings.
He has since made 16 appearances in the Premier League for West Ham, but he has yet to find the back of the net in England’s top-flight, while he has never played in the Championship.
But, Leeds may see Fletcher as a good alternate option to last season’s prolific striker Chris Wood, or they could even view the youngster as the perfect player to play off the powerful frontman.
In other Leeds transfer news, developments are expected on the club’s future transfer later this week.
