Betting latest: Rangers second faves to sign stylish player after Celtic table reported bid

Rangers have been installed as joint-second favourites to sign Dundee defender Jack Hendry during the January transfer window, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
BetVictor have priced Celtic as 3/1 favourites to sign Hendry, 22, this month but Rangers and a host of Premier League clubs are also in the running at 8/1.
Newcastle, West Ham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are all joint-second favourites with the Light Blues to sign Hendry, who has been compared to Manchester City’s John Stones due to his stylish play at centre-back.

The Daily Mail claimed on their live transfer blog on Tuesday [02:49pm] Celtic have already had a bid rejected for Hendry, said to be worth £300,000.
The race has intensified for the centre-back since though, with Rangers and a clutch of Premier League teams interested.
It is understood that Newcastle, West Ham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, as well as the Old Firm rivals, will all send scouts to keep close tabs on Hendry when he plays for Dundee against Hibernian at Dens Park on Wednesday night.
The Daily Star has reported that the Dee are looking to pocket £1.5million for Hendry, who has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season and scored two goals.
In other Celtic news, this club’s president has jetted into the UK in order to try and offload this defensive warrior to the Hoops.
