Betting latest: Odds slashed to evens for Rangers to re-sign man mountain

By Harry Sykes

Rangers are strong odds favourites to re-sign striker Kyle Lafferty, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Ladbrokes have priced the Scottish giants at 6/5 to land the Northern Ireland international, 29, during the summer transfer window.

The betting company have also made it evens for Lafferty’s next club to be Rangers as he prepares to be a free agent from next month.

The strong likelihood of the 6ft 4in man mountain moving back to Ibrox five years after his exit comes as the club prepare to make what are expected to be substantial changes to their front line this summer.

Lafferty also has the strong advantage on being available on a free transfer as his current employers Norwich announced on their official website on Tuesday that he will eave the club when his contract expires on 30 June.

He has spent this season on the fringes at Norwich and has made just 16 appearances in all competitions, with only two of them coming as a starter.

Lafferty joined Norwich from Palermo in 2014 but has spent the most successful spells in his career at Rangers and Burnley.

He spent four years at Ibrox from 2008 to 2012, scoring 36 goals and supplying 19 assists during 134 appearances in all competitions.

In other Rangers transfer news, rivals have stepped aside to clear the path for Caixinha to sign a World Cup ace.
