Aston Villa are in the running to sign Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy, according to the latest bookmaker odds.
Bet Victor have priced the Midlands giants at 6/1 to sign the 30-year-old before the summer transfer window shuts on 3 September.
Only recently relegated Sunderland are priced lower with odds of 4/1 to sign the one-time England international, while Celtic, Wolves, Newcastle and any MLS club all trail at 8/1.
Ruddy has been a long-time servant for Norwich, joining the club in 2010 for an undisclosed fee.
He has since played 241 times for the Canaries, keeping 59 clean sheets and he had maintained his position as the club’s number one this season with 26 Championship appearances to his name.
Ruddy will be available on a free transfer this summer after Norwich announced on Tuesday he is is one of seven players to be released by the club when their contract expires at the end of the season.
This is now likely to see a number of second-tier clubs make a move for the experienced shot-stopper and Villa, who have had their problems between the sticks this season with young duo Pierluigi Gollini and Sam Johnstone, could be one of them.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, the Villans are in an eight-club chase for defender.
