Betting update: Odds slashed dramatically on Rangers job as manager talks reportedly set

Derek McInnes’ is now priced at 1/20 to be the next Rangers manager, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

SkyBet have dramatically slashed their odds on McInnes, 46, to succeed Pedro Caixinha in the Ibrox hotseat after an official approach was confirmed by Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Just two days ago, McInnes was priced at 2/9 to make a return to Ibrox, but after the major developments this week he is now more nailed-on than ever to become the next Rangers manager.

The odds shift is perhaps down to the talks which are set to take place between McInnes and Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne

BBC Sport has reported that McInnes is interested in hearing what the Gers have to offer and has started discussions with Milne as he looks for a resolution.

The next quoted favourite to be Rangers manager is current interim boss Graeme Murty, who is 8/1 with the rest priced at 18/1.

McInnes has been considered the favourite to become the next permanent boss at Ibrox since the sacking of Pedro Caixinha in October and it is now understood that the Light Blues made an offer of £1million to Aberdeen on Tuesday.
