Big night ahead for 26-year-old fighting for his career – Three Leeds talking points ahead of clash v Burnley
1. Stuart Dallas
It is no exaggeration to state that Dallas is fighting for his Leeds career. Indeed, those are his own words after a summer of massive upheaval in which a string of 2016-17 mainstays departed and 16 new signings arrived.
The winger, who joined Leeds from Brentford in the summer of 2015, is locked in a fierce battle for one of the attacking midfield slots in Thomas Christiansen’s high-flying side, along with Samuel Saiz, Ezgjan Alioksi, Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe and Hadi Sacko.
Dallas has been involved in all nine of Leeds’ matches this season but his only two starts have come in the League Cup.
All seven of his league appearances have been as a substitute, although he has demonstrated his clinical touch with two goals.
The Northern Ireland international, 26, appeared to have won the new manager over when he signed a new three-year contract at the end of August but that will mean little if he continues to watch from the sidelines.
Was he handed a new deal to maximise his value were he to be sold in January or next summer?
