'Big Worry for Bielsa' - Exclusive: Mills reacts to breaking Leeds team news pre-Chelsea

It is a “big worry” for Marcelo Bielsa that Leeds United defender Robin Koch is a major doubt for their trip to Chelsea on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former Whites and England defender backed Marcelo Bielsa to work out a way to play without the German who has been an ever-present this season.

This site revealed on Friday the 24-year-old has missed a couple of days of training with an undisclosed problem putting him in serious doubt for their visit to Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

Koch is yet to miss a minute of Premier League action for Bielsa’s side since his £11million summer move from Bundesliga side Freiburg.

He has played a key role in a side that have kept four clean sheets in 10 games and currently sit 12th in the Premier League.

Asked by Football Insider how much of a blow missing Koch would be for Bielsa, Mills said: “It’s a big worry if any of your senior players aren’t available. It’s always going to be a problem.

“We’ve seen before with Bielsa, he finds a way. He manages to work out a system and put players in and they seem to do well for him.

“Yes, of course, it’s always going to be a blow but Bielsa always manages to come up with something to make it work.

Bielsa could recall youngster Pascal Struijk who has deputised for club captain Liam Cooper this season.

Another option is summer signing Diego Llorente who has returned to full fitness but is yet to make his debut for his new club.

In other Leeds United news, Noel Whelan fears a star player has suffered a “career-threatening” blow after a “huge” update.
