Bilic confirms major West Ham striker boost ahead of clash v Tottenham
By Danny Wright
Slaven Bilic confirmed on Thursday that West Ham striker Andy Carroll will return to training and could feature against Tottenham on Friday night.
The 28-year-old has missed the last two games with a groin injury and the Hammers have failed to find the net in his absence.
Bilic is currently short for options up front due to both Carroll and Diafra Sakho’s battling to regain fitness in recent weeks.
Jonathan Calleri has been forced to fill the void up front but has struggled to find any sort of goal scoring rhythm since moving to the London Stadium on a loan deal last summer.
However the latest news from Bilic is a major boost to the Hammers as they prepare for a London derby.

“He will train today and we will see if he is available. It is the same as before Stoke,” said the Croat on Thursday, as quoted by the official West Ham Twitter page.

Carroll has played 22 times for the Hammers this season, scoring seven goals and supplying two assists.
The target man is an important feature in the West Ham squad but has not been on a winning team since February 4 when he scored in the 3-1 win over Southampton.
He captained the Irons in his last appearance during the 2-2 draw with Sunderland, but two goalless draws have since followed in his absence.
In other West Ham news, the board are set to make a decision on the future of this senior man.
