Birmingham City star Rico Browne agrees deal after previously rejecting Tottenham – Sources
Birmingham City defender Rico Browne has agreed the terms of a new contract, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that Browne, 20, will extend his stay at St Andrew’s and pen new terms with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2024.
The centre-back previously had trials at Premier League sides but has committed his future to the club after exceptional spells in the Blues’ youth ranks and out on loan.
Well-placed sources told Football Insider in February 2021 that Browne went to West Ham United for a trial – but a move never materialised.

He also snubbed an offer from Tottenham, with Football Insider revealing in April 2022 that the Lilywhites verbally offered him an 18-month contract, but he opted to stay at Birmingham.
The Blues’ academy graduate was even on the radar of Man United last year, with Football Insider revealing last April that the Red Devils were keeping close tabs on his situation at St Andrew’s.
Browne is currently out on loan at sixth-tier side Rushall Olympic in the National League North.
He moved last winter and has gone on to start 17 games in the league.
The 2003-born star has even bagged a goal and two assists from the backline during his temporary stay at the West Midlands club.
While he is a centre-back by trade, he has also been fielded as a defensive midfielder at Rushall this season.
He is yet to make a senior appearance for Birmingham but was a regular for their under-21s and under-17s before his loan move.
