Birmingham City’s Liam Daish faces sack threat – sources

Birmingham City academy manager Liam Daish’s position is under threat at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

Whispers are intensifying that the 55-year-old could be sacked by academy technical director Mike Rigg after nearly two years at the club.

The former Birmingham player was appointed to his current role back in December 2022.

Birmingham’s academy has famously produced the Bellingham brothers, with Jude having just won the Champions League at Real Madrid and Jobe topping the Championship table with Sunderland.

Daish spent two years as a player at the Midlands club, making 73 appearances and scoring three goals between 1994 and 1996.
