Birmingham reach ‘total agreement’ for next new signing, forward is ready to travel to England
Birmingham look set to sign Deportivo Alaves forward Carlos Vicente as he prepares to jet out to complete a deal.
Birmingham have struggled to match their lofty ambitions this season after they were promoted from League One with the aim of pushing for a playoff place.
Chris Davies‘ side are currently 13th in the Championship, five points from the top six, and owner Tom Wagner is backing his boss this month with numerous signings to help reach their goal.
Ibrahim Osman has joined Blues on loan from Brighton, while Jhon Solis has arrived from Girona and they have paid around £6million to sign Danish striker August Priske.
More signings are expected after Middlesbrough hijacked their move for Jeremy Sarmiento, with Alaves’ Vicente set to move to St Andrew’s soon.

Birmingham close to sealing deal with Deportivo Alaves for Carlos Vicente
Vicente has scored five goals in 21 La Liga appearances from the right wing for Alaves this season, which is a clear improvement on his five from 37 last term.
The 26-year-old Spaniard has been linked with a move to Birmingham over the last few days, and journalist Matteo Moretto has now confirmed that a deal is edging closer to completion.
Taking to X on Monday, he said: “Carlos Vicente Robles to Birmingham is about to close. The two clubs, close to a total agreement. The footballer is ready to travel.“
Birmingham could let Kyogo Furuhashi leave amid interest from Swansea
Birmingham’s desire to make the top six has led them to sign Priske from Djurgardens this month, with the likes of Jay Stansfield, Marvin Ducksch and Kyogo all also vying for places up front.
Kyogo has scored the least of any of those three this season since a summer move from Rennes, with just one strike in 29 Championship appearances and a further two in three cup games.

He is certainly the most likely attacker to be moved on before the end of this window, with Football Insider recently revealing that Swansea are eyeing a move for Kyogo to bolster their forward line.
The 31-year-old was previously linked to his old club Celtic, but he could be set to remain in the second-tier if he is deemed surplus to requirements at St Andrew’s following Vicente’s impending arrival.
