Sources: Significant Ben Brereton Diaz update as comeback date revealed
Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Diaz is targeting a return to action after the international break, Football Insider understands.
The 22-year-old will miss the upcoming international break with Chile as he recovers from the ankle injury that he sustained during last month’s clash with West Brom.
A Rovers source has told Football Insider that Diaz is targeting a return against Coventry on 2 April.

That would come as a massive boost to Tony Mowbray’s side as they seek promotion to the Premier League.
Mowbray revealed yesterday (14 March) that Brereton Diaz has returned to light training at the East Lancashire side’s Brockhall training complex.
For Chile, the news that they will be without their star striker for their remaining two World Cup qualification games will come as a bitter blow.
La Roja need four points from their last two matches against Brazil and Uruguay to book a place their place in Qatar later this year.
Brereton Diaz is the Championship’s third top scorer behind only Dominic Solanke and the free-scoring Aleksander Mitrovic.
But the former Nottingham Forest ace, whose form soared after he won his first Chile cap in May 2021, did not net in his last six matches before injury.
His personal downturn has coincided with Blackburn dropping out of the conversation for automatic promotion and into a playoff scrap.
Rovers have now scored just three times in their last 13 league matches.

Mowbray’s men are 5th in the Championship table ahead of their clash with relegation strugglers Derby County tonight (15 March).
Brereton Diaz is out of contract at the end of the campaign, but Rovers have the option to extend his deal by another 12 months.
