Borja Sainz to Celtic: O’Rourke shares verdict as ‘Norwich brace for offer’
Norwich City are bracing themselves for Borja Sainz offers in the summer transfer window amid Celtic interest, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that his sensational performances “have attracted interest from other clubs.”
The 24-year-old is the joint top-goalscorer in the Championship this season with 15, having proven his ability as a natural finisher in front of goal.

Sainz made a blistering start to the campaign by scoring 11 goals in 13 games, and while he has gone off the boil a little lately, his quality has proven to be undeniable.
The left winger is entering the final year of his contract at Carrow Road this summer, therefore if Norwich don’t get themselves into the playoff picture to win promotion they will likely have to sell him.
Sainz will be tempted with a move to a higher level, and Norwich will be forced to either cash in or keep him for one more year and risk losing him for free.

Brendan Rodgers wants a squad capable of competing in Europe
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been placing pressure on the board recently with public comments about wanting a more competitive squad to push the club further in the Champions League.
Football Insider revealed that Kieran Tierney is going to be Celtic’s highest-paid player when he joins the club, showcasing that the board is looking to speculate to accumulate financially.
Football Insider also reported that Celtic’s pre-tax profit increased to almost £44million in the first half of the 2024-25 financial year, bolstering the finances available.

Celtic have competition in Borja Sainz’s position
While Celtic have an interest in Sainz it remains to be seen whether they will actually look to sign him due to the options already available to Rodgers.
The Hoops surprised fans by bringing popular talisman Jota back to the club during the January transfer window, and he plays in the exact same position as Sainz.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Sainz “wouldn’t be a priority” for Celtic, although he would undoubtedly improve the overall quality due to his goalscoring abilities.
