Bournemouth bracing for Antoine Semenyo offers as Man United and Tottenham plot transfer

Bournemouth are determined to keep hold of their best players after an excellent start to the season amid growing interest in Antoine Semenyo.

The Cherries lost the likes of Ilya Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Dango Ouattara as Andoni Iraola‘s squad was raided during the summer transfer window.

However, they have enjoyed a strong start and currently sit fourth in the Premier League table with four wins and just one defeat from their opening seven games.

Semenyo has been the undisputed star of their start to the season with six goals and three assists in just eight appearances across all competitions.

However, those performances have only raised the level of interest in his signature, with Premier League giants now interested in signing Semenyo.

Man United and Tottenham in race to sign Antoine Semenyo

Man United and Tottenham are among the teams plotting a move for Semenyo in 2026, despite him having put pen to paper on a new deal in the summer.

That is according to former United and Spurs senior scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his former clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that both clubs could make efforts to lure the Ghana international away from the Vitality Stadium.

While United’s interest has been questioned due to the presence on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in their front line, Spurs are believed to be strong contenders.

It comes as no surprise that there is interest in Semenyo,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s been excellent since the start of last season really, and has performed above the level I thought he was capable of when I first saw him play which I’m happy to say.

“He’s so instrumental in what Bournemouth do, he scores goals, gives them power and running ability, and he does so well technically and creatively as well.

“As a result of that, he’s maintained his form even when other big players have left the club.

“Semenyo would be an asset in anybody’s team, and that’s why I’m told Tottenham and Man United have both been looking at bringing him in.

“The issue with United is, where would he play? If it’s on the right, they’ve got Mbeumo there, and if it’s on the left they’ve got Cunha, so is there space for him?

“For Tottenham, though, he’s the type of player who could make a real difference for them.

“Bournemouth will be preparing for that interest, because of the players they lost in the summer and the interest in him, and they won’t want to see him go.

“He signed a new contract so it won’t be easy or cheap to get him out, but I don’t think that’s put clubs off, they will feel they can tempt him away.”

Bournemouth’s Semenyo asking price revealed

Football Insider revealed on 3 October that Bournemouth will demand over £80million to sell Semenyo in a blow to his potential suitors in the January window.

Semenyo signed a brand new five-year contract with Bournemouth in July, putting rumours around a potential imminent departure to bed.

However, there is a growing feeling he could still be tempted away from the Vitality Stadium, although a summer move is more likely than one in January.

Iraola plans to keep his best players after a strong start to the season, despite struggling to do so in the summer, with Semenyo chief among them.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 7 October that Bournemouth are aiming to extend Iraola’s contract as they aim to build on their recent success.
