Bournemouth open talks with Chelsea and Axel Disasi on loan-to-buy exit
Axel Disasi could be on his way out of Chelsea soon as Bournemouth begin talks over a move for his services in a loan-to-buy deal.
Disasi has been on the fringes at Chelsea since Enzo Maresca’s arrival last summer, and he went out on loan to Aston Villa in January but failed to make an impression in the Second City.
The Blues signed the central defender for £38.5million [BBC] from Monaco in 2023, but he has made just 61 appearances since then and has been unable to prove his worth under two different managers.
Aston Villa fans urged the club to send Disasi back to Stamford Bridge as he struggled during his loan spell, and he seemingly has little future under Maresca after the arrival of Jorrel Hato this summer.
He was left out of their squad for the Club World Cup and did not feature on the bench in their Premier League season-opener against Crystal Palace on Saturday (16 August), with the Cherries now set to provide him with an exit route out of the West London outfit.

Bournemouth want Axel Disasi on loan with an option to buy
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri (20 August) has revealed via X that Bournemouth have started “club-to-club talks” with Chelsea over a move for Disasi.
The potential switch to take him to the south coast would reportedly be on an initial loan, with an option to buy included, and the Cherries are also said to be in talks with the French centre back over personal terms.
Bournemouth must speed up move for Axel Disasi amid competition for his services
Football Insider verdict
The Cherries have struggled to get much business done this summer, but centre-back is clearly an area that they know needs addressing after Bafode Diakite’s recent arrival from Lille.
He was thrown straight into the starting line-up for their first game of the new Premier League campaign against Liverpool on Friday (15 August) next to Marcos Senesi, with the inexperienced James Hill as the only back-up option in that position on the bench.

Andoni Iraola has lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid and Illia Zabarnyi to PSG this summer, which has depleted his options, but those two are proof that the Cherries are a good place for centre-backs to thrive and so their exits could, in turn, make the club an attractive option to Disasi.
Bournemouth certainly need all the help they can get to secure his services as the window edges closer to an end, with L’Equipe (22 July) reporting that the likes of Juventus, Newcastle and Villarreal are all also interested in signing him on loan this summer.
