Bournemouth to land £150m+ as Illia Zabarnyi deal edges closer
Bournemouth are set to land a £150million-plus payout this summer as a deal for Illia Zabarnyi edges closer.
Andoni Iraola enjoyed a strong second season on the south coast as his side currently sit 11th in the Premier League table.
The Dorset-based club ended the latest campaign in ninth place to match their highest-ever league finish, which was achieved in 2016-17 under former manager Eddie Howe.
Iraola was heavily with the Tottenham job earlier this summer, but the Spaniard remained at the Vitality Stadium.
Thomas Frank was eventually appointed as the new Spurs, replacing Ange Postecoglou in north London.
Iraola has a difficult job on his hands replicating the success of last season following multiple exits on the south coast.
Dean Huijsen was the first to leave after making the move to Real Madrid in a £50million deal, just a year after joining the Cherries for £12.8million from Juventus.
Meanwhile, Milos Kerkez has joined Liverpool for £40million after impressing at left-back during his two-year stint at the Vitality.
Jaidon Anthony and Mark Travers have also left for Burnley and Everton, with those deals worth a combined £14million.

PSG blow Tottenham away in Illia Zabarnyi race
Zabarnyi now looks set to be the next star player leaving Bournemouth this summer.
Football Insider revealed on 22 July Tottenham were accelerating their bid to sign Zabarnyi after he’s caught the eye at centre-back for the Cherries.
However, Sky Sports reported on 7 August PSG are now in advanced talks over a deal for the Ukraine international, with the clubs agreeing a fixed fee of £55million.
Bournemouth signed Zabarnyi for around £24million in January 2023.
The 22-year-old has since gone on to become a mainstay in the Cherries backline, having started in 38 of his 39 appearances last season.
Zabarnyi’s anticipated exit will take Bournemouth’s total earnings on transfers to around £159million this summer.
Bournemouth agree two signings after Antoine Semenyo twist
It’s been a mixed summer for Iraola after losing several key players.
However, Antoine Semenyo has signed a new deal with Bournemouth until 2030 after leading the club’s goalscoring charts alongside Justin Kluivert with 13 strikes last season.
In terms of incomings, the Cherries have signed Djordje Petrovic for £25million from Chelsea.
The goalkeeper has been drafted in as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has now signed for Arsenal after spending the 2024-25 campaign on loan at the Vitality from Chelsea.
Meanwhile, left-back Adrien Truffert has joined in a £14.4million deal from Rennes, taking Bournemouth’s summer spending to almost £40million.
Iraola’s side will get the new Premier League campaign underway against Liverpool at Anfield on 15 August.
