Bournemouth
Eddie Howe will be hoping that his team has sufficiently recovered from last weekend’s mauling at the Etihad. It’s important that Bournemouth don’t ponder too much on the Raheem Sterling show and continue to stick to their principles. The club have eight points from their opening nine matches, but have continued with the same entertaining football that saw them gain promotion just a few months ago.
With Callum Wilson on the long-term injury list, then responsibility falls to 32-year-old Glenn Murray to fire the goals once again. The 32-year-old striker has scored two goals in as many matches, whilst he has netted nine Premier League goals in 22 appearances in 2015, compared to just one in 16 prior.
Tottenham
Tottenham were made to pay for a number of missed scoring opportunities, as they lost 2-1 to Anderlecht on Thursday. It was their third defeat of the campaign, but they have only lost once in the league.
At Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool debut at White Hart Lane last weekend, much was made of the fact that they were outrun for the first time this season, although they definitely had the greater chances to score overall. Mauricio Pochettino may be concerned that it’s starting to develop into a trend and a striker will surely be on the agenda to help the burden placed on Harry Kane come January.
Match Odds
Bournemouth have managed just one win at home all season and that was against Sunderland, so it’s understandable that they are a decent 3.55 for the victory.
They haven’t faced a side of Tottenham’s level at their home ground but the visitors aren’t fearsome travellers. Spurs’ only victory on the road also came against Sunderland and as Sam Allardyce’s new side are languishing at the bottom of the table, it suggests that neither team has impressed in this predicament. It’s 2.26 for Pochettino’s men to take away all three points.
Bournemouth’s only defeat at the venue arrived on the opening day of the season to Aston Villa, but The Cherries certainly deserved more from that match. It’s likely to be a close encounter with 3.55 for the draw a price that looks too good to ignore.
Over/Under 2.5 Goals
As Bournemouth have only conceded three goals in four games at Dean Court in the Premier League this season and Spurs have scored just four goals in four away league matches, then under 2.5 goals looks the obvious bet at 1.90.
Over 2.5 goals is 2.06, but if the scores are level with 20 minutes to play, then it relies on one of the managers taking a gamble and as neither side has won inside 90 minutes in their last four matches both would probably be content with a point.
The Draw and Both Teams to Score/Correct Score
Bournemouth have kept just two clean sheets in 11 matches this season and one of them was against Hartlepool, while Tottenham have conceded in all but one of their away games this term. Both teams to score and for the end result of a draw comes in at 4.40.
If you want to be a little more specific given that Bournemouth have always conceded one goal on home turf apart from their sole victory and that Tottenham have let in seven goals in six matches on the road, then a 1-1 draw is 7.40.
