Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert responds to Evanilson amid exit whispers

Bournemouth star Justin Kluivert has reacted to team mate Evanilson’s post as uncertainty remains over the forward’s future at the club.

The Cherries have already seen key defensive duo Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen depart whilst goalkeeper Kepa has left following the conclusion of his loan spell.

There are concerns Kluivert could be the next major departure with Bayer Leverkusen interested in the 26-year-old, as exclusively revealed by Football Insider.

The Dutchman has been at the Vitality Stadium for two seasons after joining from Roma in 2023 in a deal worth £9.6million.

Evanilson post liked by Kluivert

Cherries striker Evanilson took to Instagram (7 July) to post pictures of him returning to pre-season training, which team mate Kluivert liked.

Evanilson was also an important player for the club last season as he hit 12 goals in 35 appearances following his £40m from Porto.

The Brazilian helped the club to a ninth placed Premier League finish, just nine points off the European spots.

Iraola could be dealt another blow

Football Insider Verdict

Manager Andoni Iraola has done a shrewd job in charge at Bournemouth, but if key players continue to leave then navigating next season may become his biggest test yet.

Iraola has already replaced Kerkez with Adrien Truffert from Rennes, but he still requires a centre-back following Huijsen’s departure.

His centre-back partner Illia Zabarnyi could also depart with the club placing a £50m valuation on the Ukrainian.

Kluivert also leaving would be a blow to the Cherries’ attack, although Antoine Semenyo’s contract extension was a welcome announcement.

Semenyo was subject to strong interest from fellow Premier League club’s before he decided to stay put on the south coast.

The Dutchman contributed 19 goals and assists last season and his dynamism and flair would be missed, should he depart.

Bournemouth are more threatening with Kluivert in the side and so interest from Bayer Leverkusen is understanding as they search for a replacement for Florian Wirtz.

The German outfit could also offer Kluivert Champions League football, something he would be very unlikely to experience whilst at Bournemouth.

Kluivert has three caps for his country, and a place in next year’s World Cup spot could also hinge on this decision.
