Brendan Rodgers ‘could be lured away from Celtic’ – bombshell verdict

Brendan Rodgers is currently guiding Celtic to an incredible season both in the league and cup competitions, which is putting a lot of eyes on his work as a manager.

The 52-year-old has already guided the Hoops to Scottish League Cup success this season, while they also remain in the Scottish FA Cup.

Celtic have also dominated the Scottish Premiership, with the club sitting top of the table after 26 games with a 13-point lead over Rangers.

However, Rodgers’ body language during a Celtic press conference showed signs of frustration according to Paul Robinson due to the lack of transfers that were made in January.

Celtic sold Kyogo Furuhashi which left a big hole in the team’s attacking options, while Alexandro Bernabei, Luis Palma, Alex Valle, Stephen Welsh, and Odin Thiago Holm all left the club either on loan or permanently.

That has left Celtic with plenty of room to improve the squad during the summer transfer window, and it is believed that Rodgers will blow Rangers away with his transfer moves.

Celtic could lose Brendan Rodgers to top Premier League club

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson revealed that “Brendan Rodgers is always going to be wanted” by other clubs.

“He’s always going to be a wanted commodity,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“I thought they were excellent Celtic in the Champions League.

“That’s another tip of the argument where, should Brendan Rodgers have lost the players that he did this window without the investment that they potentially wanted.

“Actually, with those players or with a little bit of investment, could they have got past Bayern Munich?

“They were a minute away from going to extra time, who knows what could have happened then.

“Where they are and where they’ve pushed on to under Brendan Rodgers is excellent.

“The lack of investment, because they did have investment in the window, that’s harsh.

“But the players that they’ve lost, if they were in that side, if they were in that squad, could they have gone to that next level?

“Brendan Rodgers is always going be wanted, he’s always going to be looked at.

“And because of the finances that are involved in the SPL, other clubs will always have the opportunity to take him away.”

Brendan Rodgers will need to be financially backed

There are also fears amongst Celtic fans about the future of Rodgers after he’s made public comments about the financial situation he is dealing with in comparison to other clubs.

Supporters urged the Celtic board to financially back Rodgers in the summer transfer window after their dramatic Champions League exit against Bayern Munich.

That is something that the owners are already doing as Football Insider revealed that Kieran Tierney will be the highest-paid player in the squad when he returns to his boyhood club in the summer transfer window.
