Brendan Rodgers makes new Celtic transfer demand amid board talks
Brendan Rodgers is set to demand the backing of the Celtic board in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the boss wants to build on the success his side have had this season, particularly in the Champions League.
Rodgers is believed to be happy at Celtic, but his position could change if the board fail to meet his demands ahead of the off-season.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Celtic are set to hold talks with Rodgers in the off-season to discuss his future, with a potential long-term contract up for grabs.
Sources say the 52-year-old was left frustrated by the lack of investment in January despite having lost Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes for £10million.

Brendan Rodgers could quit Celtic after new transfer demand
Football Insider revealed on 4 April that Rodgers could quit Celtic in favour of a return to the Premier League if the opportunity arises this summer.
The manager has ambitious plans for his side and wants to remain competitive in Europe as well as in Scotland, where they currently have the monopoly over Rangers.
However, he feels he will need to be adequately backed in the transfer market to strengthen his team to take them beyond this season’s playoff round exit.
Celtic are aiming to keep Rodgers happy and are increasingly likely to back him, with a number of key targets already on their radar.
Football Insider revealed on 23 March that Celtic are planning for a busy transfer window and have identified options to strengthen their squad.

Brendan Rodgers targets two midfield signings
As Celtic begin to put plans in place for the summer transfer window, a number of key positions have been earmarked for potential improvements.
Football Insider revealed on 22 March that Celtic want to sign Guingamp midfielder Kalidou Sidibe as an option to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
The 26-year-old would add more physicality to Rodgers’ side in an area which has become key for the upcoming window given their recent struggles.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Elvis Rexhbecaj could replace Callum McGregor amid concerns about the impact on the side when the 32-year-old is missing.
