‘Brendan Rodgers would love to quit Celtic’, sensational Bayern Munich move possible
Brendan Rodgers is on course to win his third domestic treble with Celtic this term – and first since returning to Glasgow in 2023.
The 52-year-old Hoops boss also masterminded impressive displays in the Champions League this season, with his side progressing from the league phase and going down valiantly against Bayern Munich across two legs earlier this month.
Rodgers is under contract at Parkhead until June 2026 after replacing Ange Postecoglou – who secured a move to Tottenham after excelling in Scotland.
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has claimed Rodgers “would love” to follow Postecoglou out of Celtic.
‘Liverpool still speak fondly of Brendan Rodgers’
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the Northern Irishman “still has time” to make his mark at a higher level.
Rodgers, previously of Liverpool and Swansea, left Celtic initially in 2019 to join Leicester – where he won the FA Cup and Community Shield before being sacked two years ago.

Wyness insisted Bayern Munich themselves could do with an experienced figure like Rodgers after their reputational hit in recent seasons.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “The performance against Bayern Munich was excellent, they astounded the critics and everyone.
“Brendan has finally shown that he can mix it with the big boys at Celtic.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to about him, right the way back to his time with Liverpool, has such a high regard for him and his football intellect.
“It’s always surprised me that he’s not come to the top. Everyone says he’s very bright, very hardworking and innovative.
“People in football have always had a high opinion of him, but that hasn’t matched his level of success.
“He was harshly treated at Liverpool and didn’t go on to great success elsewhere.
“He’s still got time and I think his next appointment could be the one. I think other clubs will be looking at him now.
“Clubs like Bayern Munich, who have fallen down the ladder a bit, could even look at someone like him.
“I think he’d love to move on from Celtic now if he gets a bigger offer.”

‘Newcastle could snatch Kuhn away from Celtic’
Rodgers won’t be the only one catching the attention at Celtic, with Nicolas Kuhn also thriving in his second season in Glasgow.
Ex-England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Football Insider (22 February) that Newcastle could strike a deal for Kuhn with a £25million bid this summer.
The German could become the latest Celtic export to the Premier League after Matt O’Riley‘s huge-money switch to Brighton in 2024.
Kuhn, 25, has notched 18 goals and 12 assists in 39 games across all competitions this term.
