Brentford in line for ‘big’ boost from Bryan Mbuemo after new details confirmed

Brentford are set to have their financial accounts significantly boosted for the 2025-26 campaign.

This is according to former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that their summer player sales will help increase their revenue.

The Bees are continuing to impress this season despite the loss of several big stars, and could end up playing European football next campaign.

Stefan Borson: Brentford’s player sales will help boost accounts

Brentford released their accounts last week for the 2024-25 campaign.

While their revenue did rise by four per cent to £173million, costs have also risen at the London club.

One example was wages, which rose by 14 per cent to £131m.

Nevertheless, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson did not believe this would be an issue for the Bees going forward, with Brentford’s accounts next summer set to include a big boost from their recent player sale.

He said: “They didn’t include any of the big player sales from the summer.

“Next year, the current season’s numbers are going to be pretty good because
they’re going to have [Bryan] Mbeumo, [Christian] Norgaard and [Yoane] Wissa, all this year, so these are fine.

“The reality is, when you’re Brentford, almost all your revenue is broadcast, they only do about £20m from match day, and, from memory, they only do about £20m from
commercial. So it’s all in, it’s all from the TV money.”

How much money did Brentford make in player sales this season?

Brentford no doubt brought in a significant amount of money thanks to their player sales this season.

Overall, they brought in £142.8m based on four permanent sales, with Mbeumo’s £66m move to Man United being the highest.

In comparison, they spent just £88.6m across both the summer and winter transfer windows on signings, an impressive feat considering the impact they have had at the Brentford Community Stadium already.

As a result, the Bees have a net profit of £54.2m as they continue to find success from the transfer model that took them to the Premier League in 2021, and has since kept them in the top-flight.

Now, Keith Andrews will be looking to continue Brentford’s form until the end of the season as they eye a potential European campaign.
