‘Brentford situation could spiral quickly after confirmed news’ – Stefan Borson
Brentford are at risk of things “spiralling quickly” following the latest confirmed news at the club.
Former manager Thomas Frank has joined Tottenham as their new boss following several successful years in west London.
It was announced on 27 June Keith Andrews is replacing Frank at Brentford as he looks to continue their progress under the Dane.
The 44-year-old has not yet held the top job anywhere in senior management since retiring from playing at MK Dons in 2015.
The Irishman joined Brentford last year as their set-piece coach and has now been trusted to make the step up into the managerial position.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the Bees could be set to lose more key personnel this summer.
Manchester United have made bids to sign Bryan Mbeumo, but they are yet to reach Brentford’s asking price.
Meanwhile, captain Christian Norgaard looks set to join Arsenal after they agreed a £15million deal for his services.
The Bees have already sold goalkeeper Mark Flekken to Bayer Leverkusen for £8.4million, with Caoimhin Kelleher drafted in as his replacement in an £18million deal from Liverpool.

Brentford backed to act ‘smart’ as rebuild underway
Borson insisted Brentford are smarter than most clubs as they look to execute their rebuild this summer.
He told Football Insider: “I don’t think it’s necessarily a PSR or a cash issue.
“It’s just about actually how you execute a rebuild for a club like Brentford and that is obviously a tricky situation, especially because there are other players who are also attracting interest from elsewhere.
“They have already lost the goalkeeper and replaced the goalkeeper. So, that might work, but it might not.
“Losing the captain, manager, forward, it’s a lot of change.
“We have seen in the past situations like this with teams like Brentford.
“I think Brentford is smarter than most, but we have seen situations like this sort of spiral quite quickly.”

Man United pushing hard to sign Bryan Mbeumo
Former Old Trafford chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider Man United are pushing hard to sign Mbeumo and are continuing talks with Brentford “behind closed doors” after submitting a new bid.
Ruben Amorim’s side have seen a £62.5million bid rejected for the Cameroon international in recent days.
The 25-year-old registered 20 goals and nine assists in 42 appearances in the 2024-25 season.
